Hi, Fred Bumpass here and I want to thank you for visiting my Fundraising Mastermind Group site.
My baptism into the world of fundraising began after I sold my CPA business in CA and joined the full-time staff of a large national nonprofit organization. I began raising funding first as personal support and later on a much larger scale for the international expansion of the same nonprofit.
In 2005 I left the nonprofit and formed Ministry Funding Solutions, www.ministryfundingsolutions.org, an organization focused on helping others learn how best to get and remain funded on a sustainable basis.
I’ve expanded this training from focusing primarily on faith-based organizations to all nonprofits as I’ve proven that the principles for successful fundraising are the same whether for faith-based or great social service purposes.
Since 2005 I’ve worked with hundreds of small to medium-sized nonprofits in both arenas, in addition to individuals raising personal support.
I’ve learned a lot along the way about what works in fundraising and what does not. I have learned that even though my fast-paced and interactive 6-hour workshop Get Funded and Stay Funded! is packed full of principles, tools and examples, I just can’t give you everything I have about fundraising in one setting.
That’s why I created the Fundraising MasterMind Group.
The MasterMind Group format allows me to provide you with weekly help through weekly video and audio tips, live calls and an expanding toolbox of proven tools…all designed to help you raise more money now and in the future…I’ve used all of these tools and have proven their effectiveness just as the hundreds of people, just like you, have.
I’ve also learned that for some a lack of funding is not the problem but rather the symptom. The problem is that some organizations simply do not look like a good place for people to invest their money due to board/staff dysfunctional relationship, lack of ability to find and keep volunteers, weakness in financial controls and accountability, failure to manage the leaders’ time, and other operational issues.
To help these organizations I have created two options; Ministry Xcellence and Nonprofit Xcellence Mastermind groups.
These groups meet face-to-face on a monthly basis and dig deep into these issues through reading, application and give-and-take discussions with peers. The curriculum is the result of combining my many years as a business consultant and leadership in the nonprofit world.
About Fred Bumpass
Fred received his B.S. Degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and became a Certified Public Accountant. His public accounting experience has ranged from a large local firm to a two-man partnership and finally to building a successful practice as a sole practitioner for 13 years. In the private accounting sector Fred served four years as Financial and Operational Controller for a large architectural/engineering firm.
In 1988 Fred was first introduced to the nonprofit world volunteering for Crown Ministries. After investing seven years as a self-funded volunteer developing Crown in several Southern California counties (filling the roles of Church Coordinator, City Director and Area Director), he sold the CPA business and his home in California and moved 2200 miles to South Carolina in order to join the full-time staff of Crown as a Regional Director, managing up to nine states for the organization.
His starting point for fundraising…the three people he knew in his new hometown. By applying the right principles and tools, he was fully funded in a very short time. These same principles and fundraising tools are made available through the Get Funded Workshop, Fundraising Mastermind Group and Ministry/Nonprofit Xcellence program.
Fred later served as the Executive Director of U.S. Field Operations and Training for two years; created and developed staff training courses and curriculum as the Founder and Director of Crown University; served as project manager and developed a performance management program based on the Balanced Scorecard approach; and served as the Director for Development-International, responsible for overseeing the funds for international expansion.
After leaving Crown Financial in October 2005, Fred founded Ministry Funding Solutions (a 501(c)(3)), which is dedicated to educating, equipping and coaching ALL nonprofits for successful fundraising.
Fred is also an international speaker, having been on the initial teams that presented Crown to tens of thousands in India, Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya. He has also successfully taught fundraising principles to the Crown boards in Peru and Venezuela, training them how to raise funding from within their respective countries.
